As Corpus Christi seniors complete their final semester, Corpus Christi ISD has announced the dates and times of this year's graduation ceremonies. A Corpus Christi former labor union president has pleaded guilty in federal court to embezzling more than $280,000 from his union, the U.S. Department of Justice announced April 28. Robert Cirilo, 42, pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud and one count of embezzling from a labor organization, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas. Cirilo led United Steelworkers Local 13-1647 from 2021 through 2024. Cirilo will be sentenced on Aug. 12.
