MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - An East Prairie man was injured in a crash late Friday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the 20-year-old was riding a motorcycle northbound on Highway 102 at around 11 p.m. on April 18. That is when his motorcycle went off the right side of the road and hit a culvert. He was then airlifted to Regional One Medical in Memphis, Tennessee for treatment. MSHP said the man was wearing a safety device and his motorcycle was totaled.

(KFVS) - It’s looking to be a wet and stormy Easter Weekend. Temperatures for the holiday weekend will be very warm, but you can expect breezy conditions as well. Scattered storms are possible in our northernmost counties this morning with a break during the afternoon, and then back again this evening. Fortunately, the severe weather threat looks low for today. Meghan Smith says more scattered showers and storms will move just north of the Heartland early Easter morning.

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - A Carbondale man is facing several charges after an incident early Tuesday morning. According to the Carbondale Police Department, officers found 29-year-old Milik J. Hughes trespassing in a public park in the 1200 block of W. Pleasant Hill Road just before 2 a.m. on April 15. Hughes was arrested for criminal trespass to real property. During his arrest, officers said they found Hughes with a loaded gun with a defaced serial number, as well as cannabis.

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (KFVS) - More than $100,000 in donations are being distributed to food pantries across the southern Illinois region. This is thanks to the Poshard Foundation for Abused Children. The nonprofit announced its donation of $111,000 to local food pantries on Tuesday, April 15. RIPLEY COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - The former Ripley County sheriff is facing stealing charges after an investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. MSHP said on April 3, its Division of Drug and Crime Control investigative unit was requested to look into a former Ripley Co. Sheriff’s Office employee accused of having stolen property. The suspect, Michael L. Barton, is the former Sheriff of Ripley County.
