Protein and peptide confinement within metal–organic materials
Metal–organic materials (MOMs), including both discrete metal–organic cages (MOCs) and metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), are emerging as promising materials for peptide and protein immobilisation.

Covalent recruitment of polymers and nanoparticles onto glycan-engineered cells enhances gene delivery during short exposure†
Non-viral gene delivery with cationic polymers/nanoparticles relies on iterative optimization of the carrier to achieve delivery. Here we demonstrate, instead, that precision engineering of cell surfaces to covalently capture a polyplex accelerates gene delivery within just 10 min of exposure.

The relativistic Sunyaev-Zel’dovich (SZ) effect can be used to measure intracluster gas temperatures independently of X-ray spectroscopy. Here, we use the large-volume FLAMINGO simulation suite to determine whether SZ y-weighted temperatures lead to more accurate hydrostatic mass estimates in massive (M > 7.5 × 1014 M ) clusters than when using X-ray spectroscopic-like temperatures. We find this to be the case, on average.

The largest collapsed structures in our Universe, galaxy clusters, are an excellent probe of some of the most violent events we can observe, such as mergers with other clusters and feedback from accretion onto the most massive black holes. Furthermore, their abundance and clustering are important probes for cosmology. Because of their large mass, they are, unfortunately, quite rare, and statistical samples are much smaller than for lower mass objects like galaxies.

This article reports findings from a qualitative research project that examined how agile approaches have influenced children’s social workers’ practices, interactions, relationships and experiences. These approaches involve flexibility about where and when employees do their work, enabled by digital technology, which is claimed to make services cheaper, more flexible and more responsive to external demands (Jeyasingham, 2016, 2019).
