OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA)- The Oxford Police Department will enforce a clear bag policy next year. It will be similar to clear bag policies at sporting and entertainment venues. All purses and bags must be clear to allow security to see what's inside. Oxford Police Chief Jeff McCutchen said the policy won't be enforced until next year's festival, but he would like festival-goers to get used to the changes this weekend.

BLUE SPRINGS, Miss. (WTVA) - Weekend storms left behind destruction across Mississippi, including damage in Union County. The National Weather Service is surveying storm damage and working to determine how many tornadoes touched down across the state. It'll announce the results this week. Mark Grubbs lives on County Road 205, close to the Toyota plant. He believes a tornado definitely damaged his house.

PONTOTOC, Miss. (WTVA) - Investigators ruled a fatal fire in Pontotoc as accidental. The fire happened Thursday night, Dec. 5 at the Pontotoc Park Apartments on Hud Street. Karen Helms, 55, died. She lived alone. Fire marshals determined the fire started in the attic, Pontotoc Fire Chief Lance Martin confirmed on Monday afternoon, Dec. 9. The blaze damaged or destroyed four apartments. Medics treated another person in a neighboring apartment for smoke inhalation.

NETTLETON, Miss. (WTVA) - A two-county high-speed chase ended in Nettleton. This happened Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 20. The incident began when a car approached a Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) driver's license checkpoint on Highway 6 in Pontotoc County. The car turned around and a trooper tried to pull the vehicle over, but the vehicle fled and troopers chased after it, MHP announced. The chase ended on Benton Street in Nettleton.

NETTLETON, Miss. (WTVA) - A two-county high-speed chase ended in Nettleton. This happened Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 20. The Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) started the chase on Highway 278 in Pontotoc County. It ended on Benton Street in Nettleton. The reason for the chase is unknown at this time.
