TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Firefighters responded to a distressed plane at the Tupelo Regional Airport. This happened on Tuesday afternoon, April 15. The small plane, en route from Atlanta, Georgia, to Dallas, Texas, alerted the airport shortly before 3:00 and safely landed. Several fire trucks lined the runway but were ultimately not used. WTVA was told the plane blew a fuse, but everyone is OK. The plane is registered to a company in Woodstock, Georgia.

BLUE SPRINGS, Miss. (WTVA) - Weekend storms left behind destruction across Mississippi, including damage in Union County. The National Weather Service is surveying storm damage and working to determine how many tornadoes touched down across the state. It'll announce the results this week. Mark Grubbs lives on County Road 205, close to the Toyota plant. He believes a tornado definitely damaged his house.

JACINTO, Miss. (WTVA) - County supervisors in Prentiss County are worried about the possible washout of a county road this week. North Mississippi is expecting significant rainfall this week, and that's a concern for County Road 1371. Recent rainfall exacerbated the erosion of a section of the roadway near Journey Community Church. Supervisor Rick Owens said the damage wasn't bad at first, but recent rainfall further deteriorated the shoulder.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The deal to bring Target to Tupelo is close to being finalized. The city confirmed the news on Friday afternoon, March 28. There's still some paperwork to finalize, but the city appears to be very confident in everything coming together. The site of the store is expected to be along North Gloster Street, next to Chipotle and across the street from Best Buy. This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

SHANNON, Miss. (WTVA) - A teenager is accused of cutting another woman in Lee County. Shannon Police Chief Tony Rogers said the incident happened on Wednesday morning, March 26 at a house on Willow Street. He said Tykeria Bland, 18, got into a fight with another woman, retrieved a kitchen knife and attacked the victim. The victim received medical care for her injuries. Police charged Bland with aggravated assault.
