TITUSVILLE, Fla. - A Titusville woman said she spent her Mother's Day at her son's grave site, still looking for closure on how he died. Her 25-year-old son, Tri-Marea Charles, was shot and killed by Titusville Police on Feb. 7. On Tuesday night, she pleaded to the city council for more answers in the ongoing investigation. "I still do not have closure for what happened to my son. I am still hearing rumors every day, it's just a tragedy, I am just over it," Samantha Charles said.

ORLANDO, Fla. - More than 900 union members walked off their jobs Wednesday at Lockheed Martin sites in Orlando and Denver, according to a news release. The strike comes after months of negotiations for a new contract failed between the United Auto Workers Union and the defense and aerospace company. Chairperson for Orlando's UAW branch, Local 788 Cherrie Bowen, told News 6 this was the first time there has been a strike at the facility off Sand Lake Road.

CASSELBERRY, Fla. - Another Central Florida city signed a resolution to have their police officers train with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement - but not without hesitation. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for all local governments to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. Casselberry city leaders met on Monday to discuss this, and the solution was to sign an agreement with ICE under its 287 (g) program.

The state's Water Smart FL website shows that people can apply for the vouchers. Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nuñez launched the program in September 2024. City Food Hall announced less than a year ago its plans to open in Orlando. On Thursday, it revealed that it will open on Saturday and which vendors will be inside. The timeline from construction to opening was quick, most likely due to it taking over the space held by the former food hall, Hall on the Yard. The venue, located in Ivanhoe Village at 1412 Alden Road, closed after it was sued for breach of lease, owning nearly $250,000 in rent.

ORLANDO, Fla. - An Orange County leader says she got a call from a concerned resident who needed help finding her husband. Commissioner Nicole Wilson said the woman was left alone with her child. Wilson said she was unable to track this man down as well, and the only solution she could offer this resident was a flight back to her home, Chile. It turned out, the man had an interaction with a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer and was detained.
