ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) - Lingering showers are possible for some overnight Friday into Saturday morning. Showers and a few thunderstorms could return Saturday afternoon as a secondary cold front drops into the region. If storms are able to form Saturday afternoon, one or two of those could become strong to briefly severe, with brief wind and hail possible. Most of the region will not deal with these. The higher potential appears to be in the Highlands and Mountain Empire.
