It's a debate we never thought we would have: What is more important for Ohio State, beating Michigan or winning a national championship? On one hand, the Buckeyes and the Wolverines play once a year in the greatest rivalry in sports. It's a series that goes back to 1897 and each game brings intensity, anger and bragging rights. On the other hand, winning a national championship is what every team hopes to do at the beginning of the season.

The injury-plagued Buckeye is staying in Ohio. After three injury-plagued seasons at Ohio State, TC Caffey entered the transfer portal in late April, seeking a fresh start to conclude his collegiate career. The running back won't be going far, as he committed to Youngstown State on Friday. While the Buckeyes did not lose any scholarship players during the spring transfer portal window, Caffey is a walk-on who, when healthy, found a role with the Scarlet and Gray.

The receiver is ready to begin his NFL career. After four years at Ohio State, Emeka Egbuka didn't have to wait long to hear his name called in the 2025 NFL Draft. Egbuka was the first Buckeye selected, coming off the board as the No. 19 overall pick in the first round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. On Friday, the Buccaneers announced that Egbuka had signed his rookie contract. The wide receiver received a four-year deal with a team option for a fifth year.

The defensive end received his first NFL contract. Jack Sawyer waited until the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft to hear his name called, but it was worth it. The former Ohio State defensive end was selected No. 123 overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers and has quickly reaped the rewards. On Friday, Sawyer signed his rookie contract. He agreed to a four-year deal with the Steelers that, according to Spotrac, is projected to be worth $5.149 million, including a $1.002 million signing bonus.

#Buckeyes haven't had to debate between winning a national championship and beating Michigan before. After last season, they do, and Jack Sawyer and Will Howard recently weighed in. https://t.co/xVwZFk74k4 https://t.co/5QV78OS9g3

Damn. Don’t like Kei on the other side of the Hell Is Real rivalry. Think he would have been a nice rotational forward for #Crew96. And I realize fans were tainted by the PK debate but Kamara was a big part of the team’s success in 2015 and has accepted his role on teams since.

BREAKING: FC Cincinnati are finalizing a deal to sign MLS legend Kei Kamara, per sources. Kamara, 40, will join the club via a supplemental roster slot, I'm told. The center forward is the second-leading scorer in MLS history. He's back. https://t.co/V4mYrWpQlt

Ohio State completes its 2025-26 coaching staff by hiring Brian Walsh, who most recently worked as an assistant coach at Indiana. https://t.co/FXsreTcUht https://t.co/22rFrpF23s
