LANSING, Ill. (October 28, 2024) – Public officials and Pace Bus directors gathered for a ribbon-cutting on Oct. 25 at the Lansing Municipal Center to celebrate Lansing Area On Demand. “On Demand is a service that operates in a designated service area, usually approximately four square miles,” said Maggie Daly Skogsbakken, Chief Communications Officer for Pace Bus. On Oct. 7, Lansing Area On Demand became the most recent of 11 such zones Pace Bus has launched in northeastern Illinois.

LANSING, Ill. (October 23, 2024) – An ill-advised attempt at humor has resulted in a demotion for a Lansing School District 158 administrator. Dr. Tanya Carter, the now former Executive Director of Human Resources for District 158, sent an email to staff on Oct. 4 that some considered offensive. It involved a joke about an eagle with the punchline of “illegal” that was interpreted by some as touching on the hot button issue of immigration.

CALUMET CITY, Ill. (October 16, 2024)- Grants for school maintenance and security will be up for approval when the Thornton Fractional High School District 215 Board of Education meets on Oct. 22.
