Lake County News-Sun

The Lake County News-Sun is a local newspaper located in Gurnee, Illinois, focusing mainly on news relevant to Lake County, which is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. This newspaper is owned by the Chicago Tribune Media Group, which also oversees a number of other regional publications, such as the Pioneer Press. Historically, the Lake County News-Sun was the primary source for local news, even successfully defending its position against the Tribune when it established a bureau in the area. However, since the Daily Herald launched its own Lake County bureau in 2000, the News-Sun has faced considerable competition.
