Natalie Evans, 34, a local SEN teacher and mum to a 13-year-old, has lost 4 stone and 11 lbs since November 2023.

On St George's Day (April 23), Fontanas Chip Shop will be donating the proceeds from every portion of chips sold on the day to Eden Valley Hospice as the family-run business celebrates 40 years since it first opened.

Bin collection schedule changes announced due to Easter (Image: Newsquest) Northumberland residents are set to have their bin collections delayed due to the Easter bank holiday. According to Northumberland County Council website, collections originally scheduled for Monday, April 21, will be moved to Tuesday, April 22. Similarly, each subsequent day's collection will be postponed by a day. The council advises residents to have their bins ready by 7am on the revised collection day.

Brian and Tess of Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue team (Image: NNPMR) A missing woman was found in the forest with the help of a search dog. On Friday, April 11, volunteers from Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team and Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called to help find a missing woman in Whinlatter Forest, Cumbria. The search involved local mountain rescue and drone teams, as well as Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England and Cumbria Police.
