AbstractWe present a 3D discrete-continuum model to simulate blood pressure in large microvascular tissues in the absence of known capillary network architecture. Our hybrid approach combines a 1D Poiseuille flow description for large, discrete arteriolar and venular networks coupled to a continuum-based Darcy model, point sources of flux, for transport in the capillary bed.

Matt Crowley He will receive his bachelor’s degree in economics from Tufts University in May, but he’s already mastered the fine art of team chemistry as a football player. Crowley came to Tufts in 2020 after winning back-to-back Massachusetts state championships as the quarterback at St. John’s Prep in Danvers. He was a major recruit for the Jumbos, choosing Tufts over some Ivy League and Patriot League schools that were also interested in him.
