FOLLOWING the opening of School Year 2025–2026, Senator Sherwin Gatchalian is calling for sustained support for teachers amid the rollout of basic education reforms. One of these reforms is the Strengthened Senior High School Program, which will be piloted in 800 schools this school year. The revised K to 12, also known as the MATATAG curriculum, is likewise being implemented in phases and is set for rollout in Grades 2, 3, 5, and 8.

During a hearing of the House Committee on Basic Education, Pasig City Representative Roman Romulo raised concerns over the misinformation circulating on YouTube and other social media platforms.
