It's tough to look at. The 10-day forecast is seemingly in shambles. Several days are riddled with little shower and/or storm icons, there is no dominate stretch of sunshine or warmth, and temperatures seem to dawdle in the 60s - with few exceptions. Although there don't seem to be any bright sides to this forecast, it isn't as bad as it seems. Clouds DO dominate, but there will be several days that feature very little in the way of rain. And no day appears to be totally washed out at the moment.

Sun-filled skies continue, for now. We're already watching the swirling mass of rain and clouds to the south. It'll be another day before it crawls into New England (yes, it's a very slow mover). In the meantime, our breezes turn onshore Tuesday, cooling us down near the coast, while we cozy up to 70 degrees elsewhere. The breeze on Wednesday is more from the southeast, which isn't as chilling and imparts a bit of humidity to the area.

The pattern has officially turned wet. That may be obvious, but I was holding out hope that we may spring out of it and get into a dry stretch. Boy, that was naive. There are a lot of storms across the Lower 48 rolling into the West Coast and lumbering across the country. It seems all roads lead to New England with every storm track. That causes timing issues with the guidance (models) and they give "head fakes" that there is only a small chance for rain in the extended (beyond 4 days) range.

While it's still bright and mild today, the looming rain has everyone by the tail. Is tomorrow washed out? Will it clear for the weekend? The answers are "mostly" and "kind of."Rain actually catches up with us tonight. We'll see some embedded heavier bursts in this first wave. Then there seems to be a pause early tomorrow - just to get in the morning commute - before the skies open up again for the rest of the day. So, no, it's not raining every minute of the day tomorrow, but it certainly isn't dry.
