A quick-moving weather system is zooming off to the east Tuesday morning. Clouds will be quick to break, and the temperatures will be quick to respond to the sun. We'll soar into the low and mid-70s on Tuesday, thanks to all the mild air surrounding this system. Temperatures will be cooler on Cape Cod and the Islands, where we barely make 60 in spots. All in all, this is one of the finer days of the week. The next few days aren't too bad, either - they remain dry, mild and bright.

The winds of change blew in the colder air this morning. It's an odd Easter temp-wise. We had warm weather after midnight, but throughout the morning we saw a steady drop in temperatures. In essence, we already reached our high (in the mid-60s) and now will take our sweet time getting out of the 50s. We're expecting to "revisit" 60 degree air later this afternoon. Gusty winds will be a feature all through the day, at times topping 30 mph.

Summer pays us a visit on Saturday, and although it's just for a day, it will be toasty. Highs will soar into the low 80s - cooler on the Capes/Islands - with a steady southwest wind. This isn't a blue-sky kind of day, but we'll manage to get enough sun to get us into the 80s. Winds will be brisk from the southwest and then west. This is a classic setup for early season warmth in southern New England and will be our warmest day since Nov. 6 of last year.

Friday begins our summer preview! Highs will climb near 70, with plenty of warm sunshine. Afternoon clouds will sneak in, but showers should hold off until after dark. Southeast Massachusetts won't be as mild, nor will we be on the North Shore or Cape Ann thanks to a cool wind from the south. The showers and quick downpours will move through overnight, leaving us with quite a few clouds on Saturday morning.

Blue skies will greet us Thursday. Coming off temps in the 30s, we'll only go so far this afternoon. Nevertheless, we're aiming for highs near 60 with a steady northwest breeze. It's a fine day overall. Friday sees us climb a bit more, but the clouds will start moving in during the afternoon. While showers hold back until dark, the southerly winds will keep us in the mid-60s for high temperatures. The story takes a more summery turn by the weekend, however.

VERY unpopular opinion: we're still in a drought. 🚱 Sure it's been wet & dreary, but we haven't made up the deficit since the fall. It's like having a FT job & barely getting by. I'll go kick rocks now. https://t.co/hCxKQZxeRS

Spotty light rain & mist...they have played in this before. It depends on whether the MLB/Sox want to go through the hassle of postponing/rescheduling.

@PeteNBCBoston what’s up Pete u think they will get the Red Sox game in tonight??

Good chance we get both games in at Fenway today. ⚾️We're milder too with a few glimpses of afternoon sun. (Work with me. I'm trying to overlook the obvious rain.) https://t.co/VNY68vHYQP
