Today starts off like the past twelve Saturdays. With a threat of showers. Stream NBC10 Boston news for free, 24/7, wherever you are. Since mid-March, we have seen 12 straight Saturdays with a trace (meaning it rains but nothing is measured) or more of rain. While no records exist for consecutive days of the week with precipitation, we can all agree this is getting ridiculous. We'll focus the water on the second half of the day - predominately after noontime.

If Thursday's 90 degree temperatures didn't grab your attention that summer has arrived, Friday's storms very well could. We have a couple of trigger points to kick them off too: a washed-out front and localized sea breezes. Stream NBC10 Boston news for free, 24/7, wherever you are. Both of those are giving the guidance fits as to when and where the storms form. We may have a couple of early showers or a downpour before we get the ball rolling in the early/mid-afternoon.

Summer heat comes on quickly today. Humidity will ramp up through the day and carry into part of the weekend. The only caveat is a light sea breeze that will keep coastal communities below 90 degrees. This breeze will also push farther west tomorrow, becoming the trigger point for afternoon thunderstorms. Stream NBC10 Boston news for free, 24/7, wherever you are. Today's shower/storm threat is miniscule, however.

Another weekend... another rain event. Like other weekends we’ve seen in this wet pattern, there are some dry times too. The steadiest rain moves out early Saturday morning as sunshine tries to take hold after noon. There still may be a random shower later in the afternoon, but the chances are fairly small. Stream NBC10 Boston news for free, 24/7, wherever you are. Wind will continue on the Cape and the Islands through the afternoon as the storm moves through.

Wet weather should get out of Dodge by late morning. Takes a bit longer S. Shore/Cape. Father's Day is brighter/milder. 🫡 to all the dads! https://t.co/undyOa1N4h

West wind did it's thing. Hottest day so far this summer (minus the humidity). https://t.co/rQPQxk1EVP

Today's high of 83 was a long time coming. Almost a week since it's been that warm. https://t.co/KBBAJM0tw0
