HONOLULU (Island News) -- A storm system pushes away from the islands lowering the chance for heavy rains. Lingering showers and clouds will appear for the first part of the weekend. Tonight, cloudy skies with a few showers will come. The focus of the rains will be near coastal sections. Lows are in the upper 60s. Saturday, some lingering clouds and passing rains are on the forecast. Overall, the showers will be less intense and flooding risk will be much lower.

On Aloha Friday, there will be clouds and scattered showers in the morning.

HONOLULU (Island News) -- Passing trade wind showers are on this weekend's forecast with breezy trades. Tonight, cloudy skies with a passing trade wind showers will appear. Lows are in the lower 70s. Saturday, partly cloudy skies with east-northeast winds at 15 to 20 mph. Scattered trade wind showers will come mainly for the morning hours windward and mauka. A few showers will pass through in the afternoon but overall drier weather is expected.

A some what rare Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued for Oahu and Maui County (including Lanai and Molokai). Strong winds of 58 mph + along with dangerous lightning possible. Watch expires at 6 pm but may be extended.
