MADISON, Wis (CIVIC MEDIA) – The Trump Administration announced plans to revoke the visas of students from China and Hong Kong, sparking concern from University of Wisconsin-Madison officials. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated the State Department will “aggresively” crackdown on student visas in collaboration with the Department of Homeland Security. The Joint Finance Committee has wrapped up its budget listening sessions around the state, and lawmakers will soon begin writing their own two-year budget for 2025-27, likely after throwing out Democratic Gov. Tony Evers’ budget recommendations. The public hearings — held in Hayward, West Allis, Wausau and Kaukauna — were attended by hundreds of residents who voiced their budget concerns and requests to the Republican-controlled committee.

SAUK COUNTY, Wis (Civic Media) – The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office has announced the resolution of a decades-old missing person case. The case involves Audrey Backeberg who disappeared in July 1962. At the time of her disappearance, she was 20 years old and living in Reedsburg. Over the years, Investigators pursued numerous leads in an effort to determine Audrey’s whereabouts. Despite these efforts, the case eventually went cold. Case revisited.
