After 12 years on the corner of 50th and Penn, the Italian restaurant Terzo, part of the Broder family of restaurants whose building flooded after a water main break earlier this year, announced it is officially closing after months of uncertainty. "The devastating flood that occurred on February 13th has left the space we knew to be Terzo unrecognizable," a statement from the Broder family reads. There’s a new restaurant serving up contemporary Mayan cuisine in Stillwater. Step inside Xelas by El Sazon, located off Highway 36 in the former Thai Basil space, and you’ll first notice the colorful murals greeting you at the entrance and painted on the walls of the dining room. The murals, by local artist Jimmy Longoria, bring the tropical vibes.

Organized by Rain Taxi, a non-profit literary organization based in Minneapolis that produces the quarterly Rain Taxi Review of Books, the free festival is the largest and longest running annual book festival in Minnesota.

One of the most time-honored traditions at the Minnesota State Fair is the coronation of Princess Kay of the Milky Way. The title, which was picked in a Department of Agriculture contest almost 60 years ago, is given to one of about 10 finalists representing rural counties in Minnesota, who is picked to be the “goodwill ambassador” for the state’s dairy farmers.
