Miller's case started in 2017 when she declined to design a wedding cake for a same-sex couple at her business, Tastries Bakery. The state of California sued and over several years the case received different rulings in different courts.

    By PETER SEGALL [email protected] In a effort to bump up security at local parks, the city of Bakersfield is looking to expand its camera monitoring program by adding more than a dozen new cameras at five parks. The city parks department has had a mobile camera system for several years and based on the success of that program began adding fixed cameras in certain parks, according to Recreation and Parks Director Darrin Budak.
