MIAMI (WSVN) - The skies above South Florida opened up, bringing relentless rainfall that triggered several weather warnings and advisories and led a popular music festival to temporarily hit the pause button. The soggy Sunday brought a flood of trouble for downtown Miami. wjere hundreds of thousands of people gathered for the Ultra Music Festival. “Wow, this is crazy. I’ve never seen such a thing; it’s like the sea is in the city,” said an attendee.

(WSVN) - South Florida is experiencing severe weather on Friday as heavy rain and gusty winds rumble through parts of Miami-Dade. Friday night, the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for Miami-Dade, Broward, Collier and mainland Monroe counties until 3 a.m. on Saturday. Friday afternoon, 7News’ Stormtracker showed one round of rain moved through the region from the Gulf of Mexico, with most of the heavy activity already moved offshore and a second round is expected on Friday night.

(WSVN) - South Florida is experiencing severe weather on Friday as heavy rain and gusty winds rumble through parts of Miami-Dade. 7News stormtracker shows spinning arrows indicating the potential for funnel clouds that is starting to form from the Miami-Dade county line all the way into deep southern Miami-Dade. As for Broward, there is a street flood advisory for parts of the county until 4:30 p.m. A tornado warning for the Florida Keys between Tavanier and Islamorada has been lifted.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - Rip currents along South Florida beaches have prompted a warning from ocean rescue officials and led rescuers to save several swimmers in distress over the past two days.. 7News cameras captured red and purple flags waving at a lifeguard stand on Fort Lauderdale Beach, Thursday afternoon. The red flag means the water is not safe to go in, and the purple flag alerts beachgoers about the presence of potentially dangerous marine life like man o’ war.
