Bagha Sharif from Comilla emerged as the champion in the 115th edition of Chittagong's traditional Jabbar er Boli Khela. Referees declared him the winner at 5:30pm on Thursday after Rashed conceded defeat just 11 minutes into the wrestling match. The final wrestling match between the two contenders began in the afternoon, ultimately leading to Bagha Sharif's victory from the Homna area of Comilla. Srijan Chakma, 37, from Khagrachari, secured third place once again.

Six officers from Chittagong Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch (DB) have been suspended over allegations of embezzling Tk3.5 crore by reportedly threatening individuals with crossfire in Chittagong. CMP Commissioner Krishna Pada Roy issued the directive following the submission of an investigation committee's report into the incident. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations) Spina Rani Pramanik announced the decision to the media on Thursday morning.

A fire has broken out in the warehouse at the Anwara end of the Bangabandhu Tunnel in Chittagong. The incident occurred at 1:25pm on Sunday. Six firefighting units of the fire service managed to bring the blaze under control at 2:30pm. However, the cause of the fire and extent of damage are yet to be determined, said Rozina Akhter, duty officer of the fire service. No casualties have been reported.

The Department of Environment (DoE) has formed a five-member probe body to determine the environmental damages, caused by the recent terrible fire erupted at privately-owned S Alam Refined Sugar Industries Ltd located in Karnaphuli upazila of Chittagong. The committee will assess the harmful effects of the fire on the environment and biodiversity to determine the amount of compensation and recommend the measures to be taken to mitigate and prevent the damage in this incident.

The Joy Bangla concert, commemorating the historic March 7 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, commenced at Chittagong's MA Aziz Stadium at 3pm on Thursday. The concert showcased a total of nine bands — Artcell, Cryptic Fate, Avoid Rafa, Nemesis, Chirkutt, Meghdol, Lalon, Chittagong's own Tirondaz, Carnival.
