Pontotoc Mayor Bob Peeples confirmed last week that the city recently received a letter from ICC President Dr. Jay Allen notifying city officials that the WIN Job Centers in Pontotoc and Amory will be closing effective June 30, 2025. The letter said the closings are due to the continued funding reductions at the federal level.

The South Pontotoc Cougars traveled to Byhalia Thursday for their final regular season game, coming away with a 21-0 victory. South's defense, which has been strong all year, put the clamps on the Indians to notch their first shutout. The Cougars got touchdowns from Daltin Kelly, Kai Hidalgo and Dylan Coleman.

PONTOTOC - I was born and raised in Natchez but blessed to have been a part of the Pontotoc community for 26 years. I am married to Johnny Wilder, and we are blessed with five children and grandchildren.
