The new ICE service could start in September 2026. GERMAN Rail (DB) and Belgian National Railways (SNCB) have confirmed plans to launch a new ICE service between Cologne and Antwerp from September 9 2026, strengthening cross-border passenger services ty between Germany and Belgium. DB’s long-distance subsidiary has submitted a request to the Belgian rail regulator to assess the economic impact of the service on the national passenger rail market.

CZECH infrastructure manager SŽ has officially launched a project to upgrade the 88km Brno - Přerov line, which will form a key component of the country’s inaugural high-speed line between Prague, Brno and Ostrava. Work on the 10km section from Nezamyslice to Kojetín began on May 26. The complete Brno - Přerov upgrade is split into five sections in south and central Moravia: Brno - Blažovice, Blažovice - Vyškov, Vyškov - Nezamyslice, Nezamyslice - Kojetín, and Kojetín - Přerov.
