SEATTLE — Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and Councilmember Alexis Rinck announced a proposal Wednesday that aims to reduce taxes for small businesses. Harrell and Rinck said the proposal would lower city taxes for about 90% of Seattle businesses that pay the Business and Occupation (B&O) tax. The proposal also includes $90 million to protect investments in human services and other programs impacted by the Trump administration's threats to slash federal funding.

SEATTLE — Police are investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead Sunday afternoon in an apartment in Seattle's Bitter Lake neighborhood. The Seattle Police Department (SPD) was called Sunday just after 12:15 p.m. for reports of a body inside an apartment building in the 900 block of Northeast 143rd Street. Police found a 31-year-old woman in an apartment, who was "showing obvious signs of trauma." The Seattle Fire Department pronounced the woman dead in the apartment.
