    Flash Flooding thunderstorms will persist on and off through parts of Southern New England through the late afternoon or early evening hours. 1-3" of rain has fallen in parts of Providence and Kent Counties already Sunday afternoon 9.10.2023. Parts of Route 10 were closed for a period of time. There have been some rescues of people trapped in vehicles in some vulnerable roadways too. The slowly moving frontal system with ripples of Low Pressure along it will be lifting out through Monday.

    Some scattered-to-at-times strong to severe thunderstorms are popping in a line from Eastern CT through Northern RI into Northern Bristol County MA, drifting northeast towards the Boston Metro area Saturday afternoon. Some of the storms contain gusty winds, small hail, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. If in the path of these storms, seek shelter until they pass.

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Providence has been cited as one of the most walkable cities in the country. As in many cities and towns, a number of pedestrians over the decades have been hit, some even killed, crossing streets. Not all have clearly marked crosswalks. Atwells Avenue by Marzilli's Old Canteen is clearly marked with signs, and even a button to push to activate a big warning light. But the warning light doesn't work.
