The decade brought a new wave of thinking to the city and the country as a whole with more focus on women's rights and discussions on topics such as contraception. Radio Teilifis Eireann (RTE) was established in the 1960's and created a new era of entertainment and media consumption for the people of Dublin.

With the current cost of living crises affecting businesses in the city centre and beyond there aren't as many nightclub options as there once were in the city. Club 92, CrawDaddy and Tripod were just some of the most popular nightclubs in Dublin in years gone by.

The official route of the Cannonball car festival taking place from September 15 to 17 has been announced. Malahide in Dublin, Cavan, Ballina in Mayo, Salthill in Galway, Limerick City, Fota Island in Cork and Kilkenny are the seven locations of the festival. Cannonball is the largest organised road trip in Europe featuring the finest cars on the planet from the awe-inspiring power of Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren to the grace and elegance of Porsche, Aston Martin, and Maserati.

The Ukulele Hooley is returning to Dun Laoghaire later this month. The world famous festival will take place on Saturday, August 26, and Sunday, August 27. The Hooley has been running for twelve years and people can expect a line-up of top-international ukulele players as well as homegrown enthusiasts for 2023. The two-day affair is one of the biggest ukulele festivals in Europe.
