New vendors are joining many old standbys at the popular downtown Vancouver Farmers Market for its spring-summer season, which kicks off Saturday. Although the market is year-round, it’s open both Saturdays and Sundays each weekend between April and October. On average, 300 to 400 vendors apply for the 250 vendor spots to fill 175 market stalls for spring and summer at the downtown market.

Irrelevant Beer’s new taproom recently opened in Vancouver’s Uptown Village, providing a permanent home for Goon Burger. This quickly popular burger-and-fry operation started as a smashburger project by two employees of downtown taqueria Little Conejo. Jake Shaffer and Brian Pouppirt’s smashburgers began popping up around town and steadily gained an avid following.

Portland winemaker Pam Walden opened a tasting room for her wine company, Willful Wine, at the Grant House in 2023. Initially, she offered small bites to accompany her lush, complex Pinot Noir, crisp whites and carefully crafted rosé. Walden recently hired a new chef and expanded service into the main floor of this historic building on Vancouver’s Officers Row.
