Macron gave a national address on March 5, in which, among other points, he raised the prospect of extending a French nuclear shield over Europe. France is the only continental European power with nuclear weapons.

March 6, 2025 (EIRNS)—Two South Korean fighter jets accidentally dropped eight bombs on a civilian area during a joint live-fire exercise with the U.S. military on Thursday, injuring 15 people, officials report. The exercise was provocatively being carried out only 25 km from the North Korean border, and only days before a large-scale annual U.S.-South Korea military exercise, called Freedom Shield, scheduled to begin Monday.

For the first in more than two decades IDF tanks are operating in the West Bank. Associated Press journalists saw several tanks move along unpaved tracks into Jenin, AP reported on Feb. 23. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said he and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the military to “increase the intensity of the activity to thwart terrorism” in all refugee camps in the West Bank. “We will not allow the return of residents, and we will not allow terrorism to return and grow,” he said.
