MEDICINE HAT — The Prince Albert Raiders got off to a good start and had a solid finish in the opening game of their Eastern Conference semifinal series with Medicine Hat, but a second-period surge by the Tigers would prove to be the difference. The regular-season Conference champions scored four goals in the span of just over eight minutes and would go on to a 6-4 victory in Game 1 of the best-of-seven series Saturday night in Medicine Hat.

PRINCE ALBERT — The Prince Albert Raiders are off to the second round of the Western Hockey League playoffs. Lukas Dragicevic had a four-point game and Max Hildebrand stopped all 30 shots he faced as the Raiders took a 5-0 victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference quarter-final series on Tuesday night in Prince Albert.

MOOSE JAW -- Scotland is once again on top of the men’s curling world. Scotland’s Bruce Mouat, third Grant Hardie, second Bobby Lammie and lead Hammy McMillan scored one in the 10th end to take a 5-4 victory over Switzerland’s Yannick Schwaller, third Benoit Schwarz-Van Berkel, second Sven Michel and lead Pablo Lachat-Couchepin in the gold medal final on Sunday afternoon at Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw. The win is the second for Mouat and crew after also winning the title in 2023.
