    A key piece of the Saskatchewan Roughriders defence will be back with the green and white for the next two seasons. The team announced Monday that Jameer Thurman signed a two-year extension keeping him with the Riders through the 2026 season. Thurman, 29, appeared in 17 games for the Riders last season, registering 76 defensive tackles, three tackles for a loss, two special teams’ tackles, one sack and two interceptions including a 28 yard pick six in Week 3.

    RCMP say two 19-year-old men are facing multiple weapons charges after they were discovered crossing into and out of the United States illegally south of Val Marie, Sask., allegedly smuggling guns. According to an RCMP news release, the border enforcement team was notified by RCMP border patrol that a person had crossed illegally into Saskatchewan from Montana in a remote area south of the community of Val Marie.

    The Regina Police Service (RPS) has arrested a suspect that appeared on Canada’s Top 25 Most Wanted list – in relation to a homicide that occurred in May of 2024. At approximately 1:50 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2024, officers were dispatched to a home on the 4800 block of Sherwood drive for a reported weapons offence. It was reported that a man was lying on a driveway in the area and had been shot.

    Two men are in custody and facing drug trafficking related charges after an RCMP operation in Swift Current. The operation took place on Dec. 23 at around 11:45 a.m. Members of Sask. RCMP’s trafficking response team in addition to a plethora of other officers executed a search warrant at a home on 10th Avenue NW. Two men were arrested at the scene.
