Odisha on Monday witnessed two tragic road accidents in Sundargarh and Ganjam districts, claiming the lives of at least four people, who were either returning from or heading to religious processions on the occasion of Pana Sankranti. The Odisha government has imposed a 61-day fishing ban along the state’s coastal waters starting today, April 15, which will remain in effect until June 14. Why This BanAccording to sources, this annual measure is aimed at conserving marine biodiversity and supporting fish breeding during the spawning season.
