A heritage-listed former prison in Central Victoria will become a Montessori secondary school. The organisation behind the purchase says scores of students are expected to attend in the first 18 months of operation. Fees at the school's other campus amount to almost $8,000 a year. A therapy horse that has helped more than 100 children with disabilities has been stolen from a Central Victoria stable. Police believe Rosie, a distinctive blue-eyed Gypsy Cob valued at $40,000, was stolen from Axedale Stables sometime between 8pm on Monday and 7am on Tuesday. Owner Lara Bathurst has made an emotional plea for whoever stole Rosie to return her unharmed. "She engaged with children and adults who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, PTSD and other challenges," Ms Bathurst explained.
