SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — The State of California opened up its lottery system for the California Dream For All program. It's a taxpayer-funded down payment assistance program that could allow prospective homebuyers to borrow a 20% down payment from the state to buy their first home. The program ran out of money in just 11 days last year. The lottery opens up on April 3, 2024, and frees up about $250 million available, which means approximately 2,000 prospective homeowners will get this help.

SAN DIEGO — Sailors and servicemembers aboard the USS Carl Vinson returned home to San Diego on Friday after being deployed for four months in the Indo-Pacific. Thousands of active duty personnel returned home to the sight of fanfare and families awaiting their arrival. The Vinson Strike group was deployed along with the U.S. 3rd and 7th Fleets for security purposes and operating alongside several partners, allies, and the U.S. Joint forces in heavily navigated waters.
