APPLE VALLEY, Minn. — In just a couple of weeks, a highly anticipated new exhibit is opening at the Minnesota Zoo. Red Panda Forest will bring back the beloved species which has been missing since the zoo's last resident, 10-year-old Min, died in 2021. But there is so much that goes into adding a new exhibit that you might not realize. It's not just going out and getting a couple of red pandas.

MINNEAPOLIS — Studies show engaging with birds can improve our mental health. Watching them or listening to their songs can reduce stress, anxiety and depressive symptoms. They're darn good at pest control and seed dispersal. They're food for us and not to mention they provide the economic benefits of hunting and bird watching. So in conclusion, birds are great. The chemistry and nursing double major at Gustavus Adolphus is watching the latest developments in the war with Russia with special concern. "I came here when I was 15 and I'll be 20 this year and I still haven't left because of the war," Dasha said. Dasha’s story starts three hours north in Alexandria, Minnesota.
