    FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A first-of-its-kind youth affordable housing development is now open in Fresno. Ninety-five young lives are now changed with the grand opening of the Sierra Crossing affordable housing center. The center is made for 18 to 24-year-olds who have aged out of the foster system and have been left to fend for themselves. CEO of Valley Teen Ranch Andrea Evans says each apartment provides more than a roof over their heads.

(KSEE/KGPE) – Erik Telen Jr. never met his father, but he bears his name and now carries on his legacy as a Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputy. “My biological dad worked for this department he was killed in the line in duty in 2001 in August and I was born in October,” Erik Telen Jr. explained. Erik Telen Senior was investigating a burglary call in Dunlap when he was ambushed and killed by a gunman.
