Just before 6 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of a fire at a commercial property in the 1100 block of S Parallel Avenue. It was reported that multiple callers saw thick, black smoke coming from a tire shop. Upon arrival, crews determined that the source of the fire was not the building itself but a large pile of tires stored outside.
