    CASPER, Wyo. —Register now for the Wyoming State Pickleball Championships, open to players as young as 5, at the Casper Pickleball and Sports Complex, 1911 Dunlap Way, July 12–14. The United Pickleball Association Wyoming State Championships is a qualifier for the year-end United States Championship in Dallas, Texas. The championships are all round robin format with playoffs for gold, silver and bronze medals. Pool play is followed by playoffs of the top teams, usually the top four.

    MILLS, Wyo. — When it meets in regular session June 25, the Mills City Council is expected to adopt a general fund revenue budget of about $5.67 million for the fiscal year starting July 1. General fund expenditures are estimated a little higher at $5.71 million. By comparison, a year ago the Mills City Council approved a $5.8 million general fund budget. A municipality’s general fund is the main operating fund for the entity. It generally represents all of the discretionary funds the city collects.

    MILLS, Wyo. — Facing the cost of roughly $1 million per mile, Mills city officials continue to pursue federal monies to help build a 3-mile mixed-use bike trail through the community. If funded, the trail will connect current sections of the Platte River Trails system, thereby providing a safe route for users as well as access to recreation, business and new housing areas. Plans are to complete the Mills Bike Trail Project in three phases, 1 mile at a time.

    MILLS, Wyo. — By consent agenda vote May 28 and June 11, the Mills City Council approved 11 new business and four new contractor licenses while renewing a number of others. Types of businesses ranged from fabrication, a storage yard and a used car dealership to landscaping, a traffic control service and equipment sales. By ordinance, the City of Mills requires any business collecting revenue to operate within city limits to obtain a city-issued business license.
