Wyoming Department of TransportationA winter storm that has rocked Wyoming has closed most of Interstate 80 in the Cowboy State as of 7:30 a.m. on Friday morning, April 18. That's according to the Wyoming Department of Transportation [WYDOT] Road and Travel website. According to the website, Interstate 80 is closed in both directions between Rock Springs and Laramie. The estimated opening time is between noon and 2 p.m.The Interstate is also closed westbound only between Cheyenne and Laramie.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office says a man running from a traffic stop on Interstate 25 near Loveland on Monday was hit by a car, causing the closure of I-25 for several hours. That's according to a post on the Larimer County Sheriff's Office Facebook page. According to the post, the incident started around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14 when deputies started a traffic stop in the area of Rocky Mountain Avenue and Highway 34 in Loveland.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man whose body was found on a Larimer County highway on Friday. That's according to a post on the sheriff's office Facebook page. According to the post, deputies were called out at 5 a.m. on Friday, April 11, to the 17000 Block of West Highway 14, also known as the Poudre Canyon Road, on a report of a dead body. Investigators processed the scene and are moving ahead with a probe.

Very seldom does Wyoming score low nationwide rankings. It is even more rare for that to happen twice in a month, but for this is the second time this week the Cowboy State has ranked at the bottom. Earlier this week (Monday, April 7th), Wyoming was ranked as one of the worst states for working from home by personal finance website, WalletHub. It does make sense when you factor in the amount of blue-collar jobs we're known for and the fact that it is physically impossible to do them remotely.

Cheyenne BOPU Director Brad Brooks says the agency will ask for a $3 per month increase in base fees for water users and $2 per month for sewer customers, effective October 1 of this year. But the agency is not asking for any new fees on volume of consumption for water or sewer users, so those rates will remain the same, assuming the Cheyenne City Council signs off on the proposal. Brooks made the comments in an interview on the Weekend In Wyoming program on AM 650, KGAB.
