A friend of a man suspected of shooting his partner outside a pub on Valentine’s Day was left “dumb struck” when the alleged gunman called him to confess what he had done, it has been revealed. A suspected drug-driver has been taken into custody by police attending a broken-down vehicle. Officers were called to the A2 outside Whitfield, near Dover, this morning after a lorry broke down on the coast-bound carriageway. While at the scene, shortly after 5am, they stopped a car and the driver – a 31-year-old man from Folkestone – was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving. Police are appealing for help finding a teenager who went missing last night. Lillie Keane was last seen in the Beacon Road area of Chatham at around 8.35pm. The 16-year-old is described as around 5ft 5in tall with blonde hair. She is believed to have been wearing black leggings, a black jacket and black trainers when last seen. Officers investigating her disappearance say they are concerned for her welfare.
