ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- Show Me Reptiles were live in studio to promote their upcoming event and showcase their leachie, Louie. We learned about Louie’s diet of crickets, her preference of warm environments and her love of trees and heights. Show Me Reptiles will be having a reptile expo at Ector County Coliseum on both Saturday and Sunday. The shows will start at 10am-3:30pm for general admission and 9am for VIP entry. All forms of payment are accepted online and at the door.

ODESSA, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)-Permian Basin Adult Literacy Center assist adults with learning to read and write. “Typically we see a lot of immigrants and refugees that ether want to learn English or improve their English. But we are also seeing large percentage of adults that need to improve their reading and writing. They had an undiagnosed learning disability like dyslexia” said, Alba Austin the Executive Director of the Permian Basin Adult Literacy Center.

ODESSA, TEXAS(KMID/KPEJ)-One Accord for Kids is a West Texas based non-profit that works to help children find a family, provide resources to foster families and facilitate the adoption process. ​Texas Senate Bill 513 (SB 513) establishes a Rural Community-Based Care Pilot Program aimed at improving child welfare services in underserved rural regions. One Accord for Kids was directly impacted by Senate Bill 513. There are three objectives with the Senate Bill 513.
