FOXBOROUGH – The New England Revolution’s nine-game unbeaten streak flamed out on an unseasonably cool Saturday evening at Gillette Stadium. FC Cincinnati striker Kevin Denkey’s tally in the 26th minute was enough to secure a 1-0 victory in the opener of a three-game homestand before an impressive crowd of 27,189 fans. The Revolution fell to 6-5-5 with their second 1-0 loss to FC Cincinnati this season. The Revolution will resume the homestand against Nashville SC on June 25.

FOXBOROUGH – The Boston College women’s lacrosse team experienced a crushing fourth-quarter collapse that cost them their crown. Big Ten champion Northwestern (19-2) scored six unanswered goals in the final frame to eke out a 12-11 victory over defending champion BC in the late semifinal on Friday night at Gillette Stadium. The Wildcats denied BC its eighth straight trip to the championship game and avenged last season’s 14-13 loss in last year’s title match.

Arena, 73, was his animated and vocal self, barking instructions while pacing the visitor’s space during the New England Revolution’s scoreless draw with the Earthquakes. A season best crowd of 31,078 filled the lower bowl at the Razor to witness Arena’s much anticipated return to New England.
