HARTFORD - A 4-year-old boy is in stable condition on Sunday but sustained serious injuries after being struck by a car in the city's Upper Albany neighborhood, police said. The multivehicle crash took place around 7:15 p.m. at the intersection of Vine and Greenfield streets, according to Sgt. Chris Mastroianni, a spokesperson for the Hartford Police Department. Mastroianni said the boy was transported to a local hospital for treatment and the vehicle that struck the child remained at the scene.

NEWINGTON — Four people were killed and another person was injured Saturday when three vehicles collided at an intersection near the Indian Hill Country Club, police said. The fatal crash took place around 9 a.m. in the area Willard and Greenlawn avenues, according to Lt. Ryan Deane, a spokesperson for the Newington Police Department. STRATFORD — A massive new pump station designed to help mitigate flooding near the banks of the Housatonic River is expected to be completed this summer, ending more than two years of construction. Mike Looney, a project manager with the Army Corps of Engineers, said at a recent community meeting that crews are working on the final phase of the project and that the station should be finished by June or July.
