SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) - A teenager struck by lightning nearly four years ago on a Sarasota County beach has added another great accomplishment in his life. “I graduated from high school, I never thought I would do that,” said Jacob Brewer. Brewer recently graduated from a high school in Texas. In July of 2020, he was struck by lightning on Siesta Key Beach while vacationing there with his family. He is lucky to be alive.

(WWSB) - Rusty Chinnis with Suncoast Waterkeeper gave a presentation at the Longboat Key commission meeting on Monday pushing for the town of Longboat Key to take over mangrove delegation and enforcement from the state.
