Back in 2010, Cameron Andelin and his wife, Natalie, decided to host a pumpkin patch as a family project for their five children on their 150-acre farm off Pyramid Highway. That initial venture wasn’t profitable, but Cameron Andelin said it was a great family experience that shared the agricultural roots of the farm with friends and visitors.

The early April opening of Reno Bar and Grill may be the first restaurant venture for Shane Mathias, but the longtime entrepreneur’s experience in food service stretches back nearly two decades. Reno Bar and Grill is slated to open April 3 in a completely renovated and tastefully decorated space at 903 E. Fourth St. The 5,500-square-foot restaurant includes a 1,400-square-foot dining area along with a prep kitchen, storage space and mezzanine office.

A simple phone call from a commercial real estate broker led to a new line of business for SOLUS Technology Solutions, and the Reno-based technology broker said that providing managed network support could eventually become its largest source of revenue. Joe Jonovic, partner and chief revenue officer for SOLUS, told NNBW that when the broker called about moving an Atlanta-based renovation contractor to a different office location in Reno he helped provide the company with internet connectivity.
