(WTAQ-REUTERS) — Hundreds gathered in Green Bay and Appleton Saturday to take part in a nationwide protest effort by left-leaning political groups, labor unions, and civil rights organizations against President Donald Trump. The so-called “Hands Off!” demonstration in Green Bay, one of 1,200 taking place across the country Saturday, had, according to organizers, around 1,500 in attendance.

Green Bay (WTAQ-WLUK) – Tesla, SpaceX, X, Boring Company CEO, and billionaire at the head of President Donald Trump’s DOGE agency, Elon Musk, held a town hall Sunday in Green Bay. Supporters began lining up hours before the 6:30 p.m. event. Musk threw his support behind Brad Schimel for Wisconsin’s high stakes state Supreme Court race. “We want to restore individual freedoms. Freedom of speech, just in general. Get the government off your back,” said Musk.

BROWN COUNTY (WLUK) — A Wisconsin State Patrol trooper arrested a 29-year-old Green Bay woman for operating a motor vehicle under the influence, 1st offense, with one child in the vehicle under the age of 16 Saturday night. A trooper did a traffic stop on I-41 near the Village of Ashwaubenon at Main St. for a speeding violation. After the trooper made contact with the woman, drug activity, along with indicators of impairment were observed.

COLLEGE PARK, MD (WTAQ) — The 22-game winning streak of the UW-Green Bay Phoenix Women is over. Their fantastic run came to a halt Saturday as fifth-seeded Alabama defeated 12th-seeded Green Bay 81-67. Maddy Schreiber scored 14 points for the Phoenix, who finish the year 29-6. Aaliyah Nye scored 23 points and Zaay Green added 22 for Alabama.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WTAQ) — The UW-Green Bay women’s basketball team just defended their Horizon League championship and are heading to the NCAA tournament. The top-seeded Lady Phoenix beat No.2 Perdue-Fort Wayne 76-73 on Tuesday to claim their second-in-a-row title. Green Bay extended its win streak to 22 games, the longest since the 2012-2013 season, where they won 24. It’s the 20th NCAA Tournament appearance for the team. It is coach Kayla Karius’ first season at the helm.
