What started as a relatively quiet march of hundreds of demonstrators from Oklahoma City's Scissortail Park to City Hall eventually turned into a thunderous — and soaked — crowd of thousands of Oklahomans. The majority of them were there to peacefully protest what some have called President Trump's authoritarian overreach. Some advocated for more action.

This Week in Oklahoma Politics, KOSU's Robby Korth talks with Republican Political Consultant Neva Hill and Civic Leader Andy Moore about the recently wrapped legislative session, the troubled state mental health agency and how Gov. Kevin Stitt and lawmakers tried to curtail the power of State Superintendent Ryan Walters. The trio also discusses Stitt's high-use of the veto pen and how state lawmakers responded, and discuss their highs and lows of the session.

The House of Representatives and Senate overrode dozens of vetoes in rapid succession after several starts and stops. The Senate stalled out in the late afternoon while lawmakers in favor of overriding Stitt’s veto on HB 2769 worked to get enough votes. After hours at a standstill, the bill became law.

The U.S. Supreme Court has affirmed that Oklahoma’s contract for what would be the nation’s first publicly funded religious school is unconstitutional. The high court was tied 4 to 4, which means the Oklahoma Supreme Court’s original decision stands. The state’s justices found the contract with the St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Charter School was unconstitutional. Justice Amy Coney Barrett recused herself from the case.

Beyond proud of @KOSURadio Regional Murrow award from @RTDNA for work by @AnnaPopeKOSU. It's our first since 2007, and the first since OKC moved into the large market division, where we compete against stations with considerably larger staffs. https://t.co/c3cCquZGQC
