The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced Monday lane restrictions will be in place on stretches of Interstate 81 in Lackawanna County through Friday. Drivers will encounter the restrictions on I-81 southbound beginning at mile marker 201 (East Benton) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., I-81 northbound beginning at mile marker 197 (Waverly) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and I-81 northbound beginning at mile marker 190 (Main Avenue Dickson City) from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., PennDOT officials said.

DICKSON CITY — Dave’s Hot Chicken — a restaurant specializing in jumbo hot chicken tenders and sliders — plans to open a location at 700 Commerce Blvd., Unit 11B, on Friday, company officials said in a news release. The restaurant touts several spice levels ranging from no spice to “Reaper,” which requires a signed waiver to purchase, officials said. CLARKS SUMMIT — A men’s salon in the Abingtons has a new name and a new location. After previously operating Guys on Grove in Clarks Green, owner Whitney Palmer opened Guys on State, 319 N. State St., in Clarks Summit earlier this month. Palmer noted the building in Clarks Summit offers room for growth and she intends to bring in another stylist. “The place on State Street is bigger and it has better parking,” she said.

OLD FORGE — A grand opening for Mondano — a restaurant serving contemporary global cuisine — will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday in the borough, owner Dominic Saadi said in a news release. The restaurant — which officially opened in late November and began serving alcohol around December — hosted an event in the banquet hall for the first time in April, Saadi said. Mondano, 112 S. Main St., hosts a Lebanese dinner on the first Sunday of each month from 1 to 5 p.m., he said.

As Rite Aid intends to close or sell all its stores amid a second bankruptcy filing earlier this month, several retail locations throughout Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties will be impacted. In a letter to customers Monday, the company announced the majority of stores will remain open for the next few months, allowing patrons to continue accessing pharmacy services and products in stores and online, including prescriptions and immunizations.
