Currently on a nine-game winning streak, Boulder City High School softball won a trio of games this past week to advance to 13-7 on the season. Facing one of their toughest challenges against SLAM Academy (16-2) on April 9, the Eagles rallied back with a three-run seven inning to defeat the Bulls 11-9. Not accustomed to trailing in 3A play, head coach Angelica Moorhead acknowledged that it was good for the girls to experience some adversity.

Remaining undefeated in 3A play, Boulder City High School boys volleyball routed SLAM Academy 3-0 on April 2. Defeating the Bulls 25-11, 25-18, 25-17, Gibson Lamoreaux led the way with 10 kills, while Carson Alder and Levi Randall each recorded six kills. In a giving mood, Sam O’Shaughnessy dished out 19 assists, while Garrett Adams added nine assists. On defense, Alder blocked four shots and Randall blocked three shots, while David Zwahlen and Tyler Bradshaw each added eight digs.

Hosting a weekday meet, Boulder City High School girls track and field picked up a huge victory over 4A programs Desert Oasis and Rancho on April 1. Finishing on top of the podium, the Eagles scored 76 points, followed by Rancho (57.5) and Desert Oasis (47.5). “It’s really important for the team to win these weekday races, especially when we’re at home,” head coach Mark Misuraca said. “We have a lot of new talent and these events are giving them confidence.

Boulder City High School softball picked up a pair of impressive victories this past week, advancing to 10-7 on the season. Competing at Boulder City Municipal on March 26, Boulder City High School boys golf defeated Pahrump Valley (359) and Canyon Springs (486). Finishing with an overall score of 344, Agustin Acosta finished second with a score of 80, while Hank Stark finished tied for fourth with a score of 87. Rounding out the Eagles core, Lars Litjens (88) and Chase Kovacevich (89) finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Back on the greens on April 10, the Eagles will head to Los Prados.
