Fighting for second place in the 3A Mountain League, the Eagles overcame an early 4-2 deficit behind the relief pitching of Gavin Robinson, who allowed zero runs and struck out seven batters to earn the victory. At the plate, Spencer Aten batted 1 for 4 with a pair of runs batted in, while Gauge Rhodes batted 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Representing their home field, Boulder City High School girls track won their weekday event on April 24, while the boys finished second. “It’s always good to win your home events,” girls head coach Mark Misuraca said. “There’s definitely some pride when it comes to these weekday events. It was a good opportunity to get a full look at our team and see how they stack up.”Finishing with 142 points, the girls outpaced rivals Virgin Valley (101) and 5A program Foothill (74).

Heading into the final stretch of the regular season, Boulder City High School baseball split a pair of games this past week with SLAM Academy. Defeating the Bulls 5-3 on April 23, Steven Uszynski picked up the victory, allowing no hits over four innings, while striking out a pair of batters. At the plate, Gavin Robinson drove home a pair of sacrificed runs, while Karter Law finished 2 for 3 with a run batted in.

Extending their winning streak to 10 games, Boulder City High School softball routed Valley 15-0 on April 17. Advancing to 14-7 on the season, Payton Rogers batted 2 for 3 with three runs batted in and a double, while Rhiley Beck batted 2 for 2 with an RBI double. Baylee Cook and Hayden Nordstrom each batted 2 for 3 with an RBI, while Chloe Jamison batted 1 for 3 with an RBI double. On the mound, Beck picked up the victory, striking out nine batters.

Winning two out of three games this past week, Boulder City High School baseball advanced to 12-10 on the season. Getting above .500, the Eagles defeated Sunrise Mountain 9-1 on April 10 and Chaparral 16-2 on April 14, while falling to The Meadows 8-7 on April 11. Against Sunrise Mountain, Tate Crine picked up the victory, throwing seven innings, where he struck out 13 batters.

Currently on a nine-game winning streak, Boulder City High School softball won a trio of games this past week to advance to 13-7 on the season. Facing one of their toughest challenges against SLAM Academy (16-2) on April 9, the Eagles rallied back with a three-run seven inning to defeat the Bulls 11-9. Not accustomed to trailing in 3A play, head coach Angelica Moorhead acknowledged that it was good for the girls to experience some adversity.

Remaining undefeated in 3A play, Boulder City High School boys volleyball routed SLAM Academy 3-0 on April 2. Defeating the Bulls 25-11, 25-18, 25-17, Gibson Lamoreaux led the way with 10 kills, while Carson Alder and Levi Randall each recorded six kills. In a giving mood, Sam O’Shaughnessy dished out 19 assists, while Garrett Adams added nine assists. On defense, Alder blocked four shots and Randall blocked three shots, while David Zwahlen and Tyler Bradshaw each added eight digs.
