BROWN DEER, Wis. — Bowling may not be the most talked-about high school sport, but the Brown Deer bowling team has plenty to talk about after winning the school's first-ever championship at the state tournament this month in Neenah. "So, in the state tournament this year, there were 28 D-2 schools," coach Paul Scioli said. "Brown Deer was able to come out on top."Our crew caught up with the state champions at Brown Deer Lanes to talk about their journey to winning the title.

WHITEFISH BAY, Wis. — Aaron Womack III is the next standout basketball star at Dominican High School. He's one of the six finalists for Mr. Basketball in the state of Wisconsin. “It feels good to me,” Aaron beamed. “It shows all of the hard work that I put in. I’m up there with a lot of the great players in Wisconsin. It’s important to me.” Womack has been a starter on varsity since his freshman year. As a senior, he averages 30 points a game.

MILWAUKEE — The Rufus King swim team is on a roll this season. Last week, they earned their third straight conference win. "This group is different," Assistant Coach Luke Laga said. "We've got so many horses in the stable, it's not just one carrying the weight. The only reason we're winning is because we're a whole team.""The grit comes from the coaches and the team," senior captain Spencer Laga said.

MILWAUKEE — The booth will probably never sound the same now that Bob Uecker will no longer be calling games. Uecker died Thursday at the age of 90. Brewers slugger Christian Yelich knew the end was near. "I knew Bob was going through that battle for some time," Christian said. "I think that's why the last game was as emotional as it was. I think privately a few of us kinda knew that was probably the last one."His family released a statement Thursday.
