HOLTVILLE — Farmer’s market season kicked off in the Imperial Valley on September 19 with the City of Holtville’s first of three farmer’s markets for the fall season. The Holtville Farmer’s Market & Street Fair saw 50 booths — seven tasty food vendors and 43 with a mix of merchandise and information — line Holt Park on Thursday, culminating in “Movie Night in the Park” with a viewing of the movie “Zootopia.”“Early on we decided not to charge booth fees,” Holtville City Manager Nick Wells said.

IMPERIAL — As the end of the past year-plus of arts grants from the Far South/Border North program comes to a close, the artists and their works will be going out with a bang. CALEXICO – Dozens of college and trade school recruiters, counselors and Calexico High School seniors filled their school’s gym, as was the case with all high schools in Imperial County this week. Higher Education Week I is a week-long initiative, led locally by the Imperial County Office of Education, where college, trade schools and university representatives visit Imperial County high schools to meet with students to help them prepare for college or career decisions.
