A man charged over an anti-Semitic graffiti attack on a business in a Newcastle suburb has refused to speak as he faced court. Bjorn Johnson, 47, appeared in Newcastle Local Court today, charged with intentionally marking premises without prescribed consent and knowingly displaying a Nazi symbol without an excuse. The Wadalba man was arrested and remanded in custody on Sunday after painted Nazi symbols were found on a wall outside a Hamilton pharmacy and reported to police.

Emergency services are searching for a man presumed missing in the ocean off the New South Wales North Coast since Thursday. Friends of the man, who is understood to be 20, contacted authorities last night after finding clothes believed to belong to him on Emerald Beach, north of Coffs Harbour. A multi-agency search began this morning.

A multi-agency search has resumed for a teenage boy at a beach on the New South Wales Central Coast. Emergency services were called to North Avoca Beach about 3pm on Tuesday following reports a 15-year-old boy was missing in the water. The teen was reportedly swept from rocks. Helicopters, police, ambulance, surf lifesavers and marine rescue involved in yesterday's search efforts failed to locate the boy. Marine Rescue NSW Inspector Steve Raymond said search conditions had improved.
